This article analyzes the differences between Huizhou
transparent PVC-U pipes and UPVC pipes from three aspects.
I. Characteristics:
1. UPVC pipes, also known as rigid polyvinyl chloride pipes or U-PVC pipes, have strong corrosion resistance and resistance to acid, alkali, salt, and oil media. They are lightweight, have certain mechanical strength, good hydraulic properties, and are easy to install. However, they age easily, are high-temperature resistant, but cannot withstand impact. Suitable for domestic water systems, connections for DN50 and below use fittings, while DN65 and above use ring-type connections.
2. PVC-U pipes, also known as rigid polyvinyl chloride pipes, are extruded in a single pass by an extruder. They have smooth inner walls and outer walls with vertical reinforcing ribs. This new type of drainage pipe is suitable for residential drainage systems and uses “T”-shaped rubber ring joints.
II. Design and Material Selection Perspective:
1. PVC-U is mainly used for building water supply and drainage. It is lightweight and durable, has an attractive color, smooth and glossy surface, aging resistance, long service life, excellent physical and chemical properties, chemical corrosion resistance, and high impact strength.
2. UPVC pipes have poor frost and heat resistance. They have good dryness resistance, strong corrosion resistance, low fluid resistance, high mechanical strength, are hygienic and non-toxic, and have good water tightness. PVC pipes are suitable for electrical conduits, sewage pipelines, and large overhead pipelines with low strength requirements, such as power plant cooling towers.
III. Construction Perspective:
1. PVC-U is mainly used for building water supply and drainage and embedded conduits. Construction is mainly done by hot-melt or adhesive methods, and winter installation is difficult.
2. UPVC is used for building water supply and drainage, sewage pipelines, and can replace ordinary cast iron or galvanized pipes. Installation is convenient and can use flanges and corresponding fittings, with no construction limitations.
